LEIN CORPORATION of Marion, Indiana, has been providing quality powder coating service since 1991. Powder coating is one of the fastest growing finishing processes in North America.

What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is by far the youngest of the surface finishing techniques in common use today.  Powder coating was first introduced to North America in the 1960s, and has become the fastest growing finishing technology in use today.

Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a dry paint to a wide range of materials and products that are used by both industries and consumers.  The powder used for the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of resin, pigment, modifiers, and curing agent.  Powder is applied electrostatically by charging the powder particles and applying them directly to the grounded surfaces until it enters a curing oven where the powder particles melt, bond and cure to the desired surface.  The result is a uniform, durable, high-quality finish.

ADVANTAGES OF POWDER COATING

Durable
Powder coating gives one of the most economical, longer-lasting, and most durable quality finishes available.

Powder coating is preferred and more affective than liquid coatings for many reasons:

  • Weatherability
  • Gloss retention
  • Chip resistance
  • Abrasion resistance
  • Chemical resistance
  • Corrosion resistance
  • Resistance to chalking

Environment
Powder Coating is highly protective of our environment.

  • There are no volatile organic compounds (VOC) released into the atmosphere
  • Most powder can be retrieved and reused, eliminating the generation of hazardous waste.
  • Powder coating is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
